OIC, thanks for the link. I wasn't aware of that, but is some good reading...
I have always had large slowdowns when using the Browse feature where a lot of songs are involved, but strictly talking about using category view it is mixed. I have the slowdowns on my X3II with less files, but odd as it may sound, my X5 gen 1 doesn't have the same slowdown issues (it still slows down some when browsing MANY files, and worse if they are lossless like flac), but for the most part, ALL songs will show up in a couple of seconds. I wonder if Fiio implemented better code in the newer gen devices, so they could save money and put lesser CPU's (and maybe less RAM too) in them?! This would make the "documented" features work the same, but anything that wasn't originally intended when the device was built, would slow it down tremendously.
