I've owned the M3 for a few months now, and its basic sound quality is really impressive for the price - there's clearly some very good audio hardware design inside. However (and it's a very big "however") the M3 has a couple of really serious problems as a music playback device:

The M3's lack of support for Gapless Playback is almost a show-stopper for me - it damages the music listening experience horribly. Many albums feature tracks that run continuously into each other, and these are almost impossible to enjoy on the M3.

I've also noticed that - even with "Fade in / Fade Out" deactivated - there's a short (c. 0.3 seconds?) fixed fade-in that can't be switched off. Again, this destroys the music listening experience - many tracks start with a big transient signal (e.g. a drum or guitar-chord), and this is lost as a result of the short fade-in.

I really hope that these issues can be fixed soon with a firmware update - I'm struggling to enjoy listening to music on the M3 at present. Many, many other competing products provide true gapless playback and zero fade-in - even my ancient Sansa Clip+ (both with stock and Rockbox firmware) supports these features.

Please, FiiO, fix these as a matter of urgency! They ruin an otherwise excellent product.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, timbaty, yes, a few customers told this to us before. We would try our best to fix it well.
